GET TO KNOW TY

Ty Scott King has been fine-tuning a unique balance between poetry and hip hop for decades. A GRAMMY® nominated poet, Ty has performed everywhere from the United States Pentagon to The Potter's House, sharing stages with industry greats from Whitney Houston to Kirk Franklin. Often called "the Maya Angelou of this generation," she uses her God-given gift of words to remind others of their worth and purpose.

As a celebrated voice over artist, Ty has lent her poetic delivery to global brands such as McDonald's, Aveeno, and Pizza Hut—earning her the coveted Silver Mic Award. She has also served as a content partner for the American Red Cross, Universal Production Music, YouVersion Bible App, and her.BIBLE.

Ty's influence extends to major television networks such as BET, TV One, and TBN, and repeated spots on the Billboard Music Charts. Her eclectic list of accomplishments also includes ranking among the top U.S. poets at the National Poetry Slam level for three years, hosting both an internationally broadcasted television and radio show, and breaking ground in the legendary award-winning group Platinum Souls.

The once shy, Jamaican born, U.S.-raised girl who began writing at eight and attended a school of the arts continues to spread faith, hope, and love through her potent words.
